On Christmas mode

My brain seems to have clocked out a few weeks early. I have this big empty week before exams while other people are still scrambling to finish essays. It's kind of awesome and I should be using it to study for finals, but that seems highly improbable with Christmas on the brain. Instead, I'm just going to spend a little time talking to you guys. Feel special.

Kitty's about to go to South Keys (a.k.a. closest civilized plaza to Carleton and you still have to take a train to get there) so I get the whole room to myself! I'm a hermit. Anyone have a problem with that? Didn't think so.

Let's see. What can I tell you that will make this post vaguely interesting. Let's talk about Clifford. Clifford is a rather flamboyant guy in my journalism, history, and politics class. He's a...round (to put things nicely) Chinese guy who speaks fluent French, Cantonese and Mandarin, some Korean, some Japanese and some angry and slightly racist comments in Farsi. He wears blue contacts and is never without a cigarette and an ice cap. Everything in his life irritates him to no end, meaning he has beef with EVERYBODY. Let's just put it very plainly: Cliff is the most stereotypically gay person in the history of the world! He fully does the limp hand flipping thing and talks in a permanent falsetto. All his friends are girls and he compliments all the female TAs on their "stunning" choice of tops, skirts, scarfs, colours, shoes, necklaces, hair accessories. He might as well wear a rainbow cape and be done with it.

So there's an image for you. People here are weird. There was that one guy who rides around campus on a unicycle. There's another guy who wears a panda hat everywhere he goes. There are these two guys who have light sabre fights outside in the dark. And someone stole the couch from our TV room. How does that even happen? I couldn't tell you, but we're still waiting for the culprit to return it.

I should probably mention that tomorrow is going to be the most terrifying day of my life. I don't know if I mentioned it earlier but Kitty and I both take Jiu Jitsu on Mondays and Wednesdays and grading is tomorrow. It's basically a test to see if you are worthy of casting off the white belt of a novice and adopting the prestigious belt of yellow. I feel like I'm going to be walking to my death. It was nice knowing you all.

I've really procrastinated long enough. I think it's time to put the nose back to the grindstone (what an unattractive image).
