Opening Ceremonies was one of the loudest events i had even been too! The amount of cheering and screaming and horn blowing was amazing!
During the opening ceremonies, all 6150 (or something close to that) were squished onto this small hill. It was extremely uncomfortable for the time that we had to sit but it was so much fun!! OOO b4 i forget, wen Saugeen (another rez) marched down the hill, it looked as htough an army had just arrived as they occupied like 3/10 of the hill, while Perth took up like 0.3/10 of the hill. Although we r such a small rez, we were BY FAR one of the loudest and craziest! PERTH PERTH PERTH!! :). but maybe that was b/c we had horns :P.
For the opening ceremonies, we were supposed to do a cheer/dance, sooo our Sophs gathered us outside perth to practice... and wat did we learn? well THE HIP THRUST! of course wen all the freshman first saw this infamous hip thrust, we were all a lil hesitant to try it ourselves but as the night grew on us, we were all hip thrusting our way through the night!
After the opening ceremonies, a resident hypnotist came onto the stage to put on a show for us! He was abosutely amazing. some of the stuff he made these ppl do was hilarious! and also b/c there were cameras that were connected to these two big screens, the cameramen kept on gettin close-ups of ppl's faces and they were actually EPIC! and at this one point hte hypnotist was like "u r in the amazon and it is extremely hot... like sweltering hot!!" and some guy took off his shirt and all the girls were like "WOOOOO!!!!" then some girl took off her sweater and was int he process of taking off her shirt and all the guys were like "WOOOOOO!!!!" until the hynotist said "release" then the subjects snapped back to reality and the shirt-taking off stopped and every1 went "BOOOOOO!!!!" lol while the girl who was takin off her shirt was like "why the hell don't i hav my sweater on anymore?" After we had the "Lunar Solstice Dance" where we dipped our right hand in white paint in honour of Michael Jackson and we danced the night away well at least until 1am which is when they told us to head back to our dorms and sleep.
